Great men never aspire to be great. They are great because of their character. They are men of high moral character. Great men leave a legacy unplanned, and transcending the bonds of time. I do have several examples. First in modern history would be George Washington, and all the signers of the Declaration of Independence. While it is true that those who did sign, and also those who did act on the Deliration of Independence were committing High Treason against the Crown, they were revolutionary in incredible and innumerable ways.
The Signers had the revolutionary idea of freedom. They believed that mankind, when ruled by morals and rules, rather than a king, would aspire to great heights. They believed so firmly, in the document they signed, that they, "pledge to each other our, Lives our Fortunes and our sacred Honor." Indeed their ideas and actions have transcended the test of time.
Later, The United States of America was blessed once again that Abraham Lincoln lead the nation through the most difficult time of the 19th century. This uncommon courage, and leadership brought a nation ravaged with Civil war to peace, and then prosperity.
In our day, Ronald Regan, the most beloved President of our time, is revered in reverence. His endless optimism and cheerful twinkling of his eyes, won the nations heart. The Nation believed in Ronald Regan because Regan believed in them. His political opponents were befuddled to discover a weakness to attack his ideas and ideology. They were hard pressed to figure a way to prevent his agenda. His agenda was simple, defeat communism, lower taxes, and believe in the American people. In retrospect, he succeeded in all counts.
Ronald Regan is remembered and honored for who he is. We miss him dearly.
Recent event must include the passing of Pope John Paul II. To put it simply, his faith never wavered. He never wavered in the difference between good and evil. He never deviated to the path of immorality. His legacy is not "mixed", but his path is clear. He is a man of high moral character, and his word is his bond. It's a shame that so many do not understand men of character.

The Kite
Is it any wonder that the Libs are loosing big in nearly every important issue of the day. After emotions run high and long, human beings review thier souls and know that with the sanction and ordered death of Terri Schaivo, America is diminished. The promise of America, which is nothing less than "life, liberty and the persuit of happiness..." apparenty according the Florida Judicial system does not apply to American citizens. But rest assured, every member of Florida's death row, will have three square meals a day, all the water desired, and every appeal fully reviewed.
While there is nothing left to turn the events of death of Terri Schiavo, we can be assured that the Final judgement, will be with God. Indeed there will be Terri herself to stand as a witness in her perfected glory to speak for herself finally. At the great and terrible day of judgement, there will be all the lawyers, attournies, judges, witnesses, and affiliated parties and they will be judged according to thier actions. Each will know thier own guilt, and know that they are peril of the wrath of God.
On the lighter side, this is a stark reminder of the realities of this frail and beautiful life. We must recongize that life is fleeting, tender, pressious. It is a gift from the Almighty, of whom is the only one with authority to give life and take life.
I realize that such ideas, indeed such deeply held to a Liberal is much like a cross and holy water is to Dracula, these ideas and beliefs indeed exist. Indeed, there are many who would testify that God lives, and he has a plan for each and every one of us. That he made it possible to return to this perfected presence. While such ideas to secularist seem small and unintelectual, it does provide a clear and required service for mankind. Such order is needed for man to aspire to greater heights than would be from with in ones self.
This concept is much like a kite. If we think of our selves as a kite, our string would be rules and morals and other such concepts that would seem to hold us back. But when the winds of life blow, we can raise to great hights, higher than perhaps we would of known possibly known. Even when great winds that could destroy us, that string will hold us strong. Thus the morals and rules keeps us true to ourselves, and respected by others.
