It would seem that our do nothing congress is living up to its name. At least there is an idea on the table to save us from a total and instant collapse. But no. The "We hate Bush" Democrat congress has to put it paws in our pockets to pay off incredibly bad decisions. Meanwhile, there are now criminal investigations, while congress refuses to investigate.
Not that anyone listens to me, but I have a solution, that won't cost the American Tax Payer for generations to come. All we need to do is suspend ALL taxes for the next 24 months. Every quarter business pay their estimated quarterly taxes. Also individual withholding be suspended. Continue with stopping all Federal Spending with the exception of Social Security and government payroll. These steps would pour $400 Billion every quarter into the economy, all without causing the tax payer to spend one extra cent. So simple it hurts.
Yet I can't get one lawmaker to listen to me. But why would they, I am a mere surf, only to come at their beckoning on election day. I think that Thomas Jefferson was right, A little revolution is good now and then.

Chivalry is not dead
Chivalry is not dead. I know kind of an odd expression to start a blog. I have been watching the McCain / Palin vs. Obama / Biden thing, and well it seems that America has become enamored of Governor Sara Palin. Or at the least, they will not stand to have a wholesome, upright mother of 5, wife, hockey mom, moose hunting woman belittled, upbraided, besmirched, trashed and torn limb from limb with her entrails splayed out for the media vultures to arrive a pick apart. Fortunately, the people of the United States of America love their women, yes even strong women.
This reaction was not so prevalent for the beating that Mrs. Clinton got. There were cries of injustice and sexism that failed to achieve a victory for Mrs. Clinton. I dare say (with tongue firmly planted in cheek) that Mrs. Clinton has a bigger set than does Senator Obama and Biden combine. While this vulgar observation prods, I march on. What I mean, is that Mrs. Clinton was the better candidate for President of the United States of America with her experience alone as compared to the lack of experience of Barrack Obama. Well the Democrats have made their bed, and now must lie in it (to freely use the cliché).
So we have entered as a wild card Governor Sarah Palin, someone so normal that most Americans with whom outside the large inter cities completely identify. (say that five times fast.) Her experience as an executive of a state is no comparison to the community organizer. I mean really, making budgets, cutting taxes, fighting corruption all are part of her resume. We can’t even get the documentation of the associations of Mr. Obama. I would rather vote the known than the unknown.
Back to the point, the Wall Street Journal reported that 30 lawyers, investigators etc… were sent to Alaska to dig up dirt, and find the smallest skeletons in her closet. So far, they have found nothing. However, the move by her opponents has been viewed as unfair. The personal attacks on her character, and daughter has left a bitter taste of true disgust in the mouths of Americans, and it’s showing in the polls.
Instead of pulling back the punches, the Democrats are redoubling efforts to personally destroy Sarah Palin. It won’t work. Americans are fair minded. They love “truth, justice and the American way”. They love their women, even women leaders, and will not put up with personal attacks on this one. American’s are standing with their voices and shouting down the venom of the wild eyed left wing extreme that are attacking over and over Mrs. Palin. We are witnessing the chivalrous American population stand and defend the woman that reenergized the GOP. America, I salute you. You know a good woman when you see her, and you stand up for her. Way to go.

Tough Choice
Okay,
The two of you that read this post are probably waiting for my response to the GOP convention and the McCain / Palin Ticket. Well, the fact of the matter is I still don't know for whom I am going to vote. Be it well known that Obama / Biden is not a choice at all. Not unless I want 60% of all I earn to head directly to the federal government whom will redistribute those funds to groups and organizations which I have personal problems and grievances. or the 45% death tax which will be laden upon my widow and children upon my death. So the couple of million in total assets will become less than $900,000. Not to mention the forced labor of a new "volunteer corps" that will be place for my children. (I thought that slavery and indenture servitude was unconstitutional.) But I digress.
For me, it's either McCain / Palin (GOP or Republican) or Barr / Root (Libertarian). I would love to see Bob Barr as President of the United States, only because I am so tired of the same faces in Washington that have kept the same problems in play since Ronald Reagan. In fact I recently read the acceptance speech of Ronald Wilson Reagan. If one replaced or omitted the words Iron Curtain, it would be the identical problems we have today. A bloated and interfering government, a tax burden smothering the economy, too much regulation, enemies abroad that seek our (America's) destruction all still are problems today.
The 12 years of two different Bush's and 8 years of Clinton have exacerbated the problems, not solved them. We have 20 years of light and heavy socialism compared to 8 years of Ronald Reagan. Those 8 years of conservatism where we bounce back from a misery index lead by the anemic leadership of Jimmy Carter. We had double digit inflation, we had record job loss. We had a contrived oil shortage. We had Jimmy Carter telling us to wear sweaters instead of turning up the heater. I wasn’t old enough to vote, but I knew enough to realize what a living breathing joke, socialist and man totally void of a back bone Jimmy Carter was and still is. The stark contrast of Ronald Reagan’s conservatism and the economic explosion and job creation, and tax reduction compared to George H. Bush’s tax increase and budget increase, and Bill Clinton’s tax increase and budget increase, and George W. Bush’s budget increase is breath taking.
I can’t say for whom I will vote. Basically I have not been educated enough on specific programs or policies that will lower taxes, cut budgets, free the people from the bonds of the government to have an informed choice. I have not heard what anyone will do about Iran, or Russia or Afghanistan. I know that in foreign policy, there is one more experienced than anyone else. However his record as a conservative is lacking. John McCain flirts with socialism, and that’s enough to make me think twice about his conservative credentials. His magnificent choice of Sarah Palin, however, is enough to flirt with overlooking his conservative short comings.
If there was one telling thing about how truly conservative Sarah Palin is the total assault on her good name and character that is currently the action of most of the media. Almost criminal, surely in bad taste, and absolutely evil is the current wave that has tried to crush Sarah Palin and her family. This alone is enough to secure her in history as a true conservative. Even better, she has a proven record of cutting taxes, budgets, standing as a standard of conservatism in a “good ol’ boy” network. This refreshing change is exactly what Washington D.C. needs. Unfortunately, it will be four years before she has a real opportunity.
It would seem that both the Democrat and Republican tickets are upside down. In both cases, it would be a stronger ticket if the Vice President nominee were the Presidential nominee. Oh well, we can’t have it all. To summarize, I can say I will absolutely not vote Obama / Biden. I can’t say that I will rule out the GOP ticket either however. I simply don’t have enough information. If the election were right now, today, it would be for me Barr / Root. At least I know that the government would be defunded, and those dollars returned to me and you respectively.
