Did Janet Nepolitano just give a total victory to conservatives in 2010? Consider the following:
Either 1 - Secretary Nepolitano is just a figure head, and the President is micromanaging every little thing from the oval office, or…
2 - Ms. Nepolitano is the single most incompetent administrator of all time.
Either way, don’t expect to see Ms. Nepolitano to be long lived in the Obama Administration. Even as of right now, as reported in the Salt Lake City Examiner, they are reporting the HSA Secretary to resign for personal reasons.
The fact is that the most colossal and complete failure of security checks has been exposed with a would-be terrorist that could have cost the lives of 300 innocent people. Given the two scenarios above (figure head or incompetent) that would mean a safe and secure United States of American is not a priority for the current President. Realizing such things to be said are alien in nature, it is the only conclusion that can be logically reached given the facts.
Knowing that this Administration cares little for the safe and secure America, it couldn’t be very hard to use this particular point in the coming elections. The GOP were wise would use this moment to solidify a great ever present issue that is foremost on the minds of Americans. With the addition of the quarter hearted surge in Afghanistan and the pathetic show of mourning for the deaths of innocence in Texas, a pattern of little regard for the lives and safety of Americans is being displayed in a new and bold fashion. Never in my life time, nor my grandfather’s life time for that matter has there been a commander in chief so blatantly liaise et fair about the security of U.S. citizens.
This shouldn’t really surprise anyone what so ever. The previous President was no better in this issue. If one were to take a serious study of our nation’s borders, one would see a sieve with a gigantic hole in the middle. I would go on about airport security, but we just had perfect pattern of total failure in security, given the perfect of circumstances to prevent that terrorist on that plane.
Blame however cannot be contained to the Executive branch alone. Unfortunately, the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate share responsibility for putting either a figure head or incompetent in charge of homeland security. I believe a third of that body is up for re-election. Perhaps they should suffer the consequences of their serious lack of judgment by being fired from their current positions.
Are we as citizens going accept this level of incompetence? Are we going accept this total disregard for YOUR VERY LIVES? I seem to remember in the Declaration of Independence that, “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” Are we willing to call Congress, the Senate and the Executive destructive of these ends? I report, you decide. You must decide what kind of citizen you will be. Are you to be the steward of freedom or the mindless minion of the bidding of the Elected?

Resolutions
Once again it’s time for the ominous New Year’s resolution. What’s your resolution? Is it the proverbial “to get in better shape” or loose “X” amount of pounds off an arguably obese body? Or perhaps it’s to simply survive yet another bleak economic year? Whatever your resolution is, have you prepared yourself to fulfill your goals?
Make a resolution is the easy part. Taking the small but necessary steps to achieve that goal, well – to be clichéd, it’s easier said than done. A wise man once told me, “Most men dream, a small percentage of those dreamers achieve. Those, whom have achieved, worked hard to achieve.” What are you willing to do to achieve? Are you willing to put down that cake and have a carrot, or (heaven forbid) rice cake (eeewwwww!). Are you willing to take the daily half hour and workout first thing in the morning, or perhaps at the end of a long day? Are you willing to work those extra hours to assure the continued success for your employer’s business? Are you willing to step out on your own to start a business and leave the comfort zone of someone else having the responsibility of earning more income than expenses? Have you though out a daily plan to be executed for purpose of achieving your goal?
If not, like so many of us in years past, we will break that resolution nearly as fast as we came up with it. Most of us don’t plan to fail, we simply fail to plan. And that failure to plan creates a substantially higher probability of failure to achieve our goals. So in the next few days when you have a quiet moment or two, take time to plan those things that can help you in your endeavor to achieve. Help yourself give yourself the very best chance as success possible. For once you achieve, the next time will be much easier because you have done it once before.
