Merry Christmas - Ho Ho Ho?
While I have not really enjoyed this Christmas season as I have in years past, all hope, love, joy and cheer is not lost. What’s more, I just learned of the passing of my grandmother. This is no particular surprise, and in her case, it probably a blessing. My grandfather, her husband, had passed just before Thanksgiving, 2007.
Before I go further, I should explain the tradition of Thanksgiving in my father’s family. Ever since I can remember, Thanksgiving has been a gathering of all my cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents starting the Wed. night before Thanksgiving. My dad has 6 brothers and one sister. Each of the brothers and sister has a minimum of 5 children. As of today, Most of the children have 3-5 children. When we gather for Thanksgiving, it’s anywhere between 90-120 people. On the Wed. before thanksgiving, in the last few years, it’s been my responsibility to start the fire in the pit for the meats which we cook underground. It starts about 12 and we make about 18” of coals to fully cook 5-7 20 lbs. turkeys, and 25 lbs. of roast beef. We place the meats in the pit at 7:00 p.m. and retrieve them 1:00 pm the next day. On Thanksgiving, the feast includes turkey, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy (I make the gravy) yams, salad, Dixie salad, rolls, green bean casserole, parsnips, and cranberry relish. It’s finished with a variety of pies, cakes, sweets.
The celebration does not stop with the feast. We hold a family home evening on Thanksgiving night. We have a load of games at park, use the leftovers for lunch, and return for dinner, and family entertainment. The next morning, families disperse to their homes.
Right before the Thanksgiving of 2007, my grandfather died. For me, it was not a time of lament, nor great sadness, for he was ready for the next phase of life. His years on this good Earth was spent working hard, and having challenges from external sources refine his character. He was a man that provided the needs of his family. He was an inventor, father, husband and had his posterity before him at least once a year at Thanksgiving. He relished those moments, for he knew his life was full rich – rich beyond description. He was not rich in terms of money, but his wealth was from the fulfillment of his family.
About an hour ago, I learned that his wife my grandmother died. It’s Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Two days before Christmas, my grandmother died. As was with my grandfather, I am not upset. She, like he, worked all her life. While her task was greater than any in the commercial or governmental field combined. She has stayed at home to raise 6 boys and 1 daughter. After they were raised, she then worked, keeping her husband from being idol. (I think that most wives are wired to do that) She was missing her husband, and with the various ailments that plagued her for the last 10 or so years, this is a blessing. She also was ready for the next stage of life.
While I don’t feel particularly distraught, or upset, I am sure that my dad is holding it together, right until the funeral. (just as he had with his father dying.) So for my dad, Thanksgiving will be a time for remembrance of his father’s passing, and Christmas will be the reminder of his mother’s passing.
Fortunately, thanks to the knowledge of what is after this life, and how it’s possible, despair is not commonly associated with death. We believe that all will live again. That is everyone that is born on Earth shall be resurrected in their time. For those that find the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, accept his teachings and become counted with his followers, life will be with the Father and the Son in a glory beyond all description. Thus, hope, faith and belief are all steps to this knowledge.
The only thing that really reoccurs to me, over and over, is that there are fewer days ahead than behind. And for the short term, the days ahead are dark, and dreary.

Dispair
One would think that this premise could be rather enlightening. By the description, it could be a realistic assessment of my personal relationships and that I know exactly where I stand in the grand scheme of things. Or rather, it could be a fight to bring meaning, significant, true meaning to my existence. I, for one, don’t rightly know (not that anyone will really care, until or unless someone has a need to investigate my untimely and or unnatural death). Exactly where I stand in the grand scheme of the universe, and what the purpose of which God will make use of me, is wholly unclear. Devine providence, it seems, has placed me in a holding pattern.
I almost feel stagnant. Neither progressing, nor digressing, but existing only to sustain the living around me. It all extends from the knowledge that there is literally nothing that I can do to prevent my freedoms from being stolen, trampled and pillaged from me, my family and my posterity. Generations of men and women took on themselves the right, privilege and duty to secure the rights and freedoms granted from on High. Once we had a generation willing and able to do the difficult things required to save a world at war. They had the courage, and moral authority to act to save Europe, twice. This same group of people have been dubbed “The Greatest Generation”, and rightly so.
Their children are our seasoned citizens of today. Yet, while their fathers and mothers did everything to guarantee their liberty and freedoms, even to the spilling of their very blood, they stand in greed demanding from others to provide for them. It’s not entirely their own fault. The government, from the time of Roosevelt, granted sustenance, without the requirement earning that sustenance. It became an entitlement. It was their right to be given that which was taken from someone else. For those whom it was taken, had plenty, should give of themselves for others, even if the government should compel them to do so.
These entitlements have grown, and grown, to the time where we sit today. A bloated corps of a government, taking on the responsibilities of capitalism: an oxymoron as ever been seen in this day. The free enterprise system can only be free if government involvement is at a bare minimum. Markets ebb and flow as do the tides. Sometimes the tide is exceedingly high, and sometimes the tide is exceedingly low. No one however can build anything that can control those tides, be it high or low.
The founding fathers of this great and glorious land knew exactly what they were doing, when the restricted the government to a specific and extremely limited powers. In the name of this cause or that cause, our freedoms have been eroded, confined, and even stripped away. Some calling these restrictions of man a good thing, “for the greater good”, while those like me long for a return to the founding principles of virtue, honesty, goodness, and Godliness.
More insidious, is the blatant and bold attacks on those of religion. A concerted effort and great strides have been made to remove God from every place, and Christ from Christmas. Laws reject the word Christmas from the public view. The Ten Commandments, the foundation of nearly all our laws, is stripped from the schools, court rooms, and all manner of public places. Is it no wonder that hope is driven from the thoughts of man?
Taken as a whole, indeed I feel insignificant to do anything against the bombardment of my core beliefs, some which many would outlaw, given the first opportunity. I have no voice on the air, in the print media save this blog only. My attempts to communicate with those whom represent me in Washington D.C. ignore the vast majority (as I count myself as among them).
A deep darkness is brewing on the horizon. A terrible wrath is marching its way to all of us. While some in Washington seem intent on distracting us from that coming storm, others are flashing the warning signs. Something wicked this way comes. I feel it. Others know it. And a looming sense of doom creeps into my heart. I have not the means to support my family in that economic disaster marching its way to my battle front. I have not the talent, not the financial freedom, so longed by every American. I don’t’ have my own house. Have two cars, both in need of repair, but not the means or knowledge to repair them. I don’t have the strength to fight this battle, nor the wisdom to find a victory with in it. I sit, alone, on the precipice of despair. There is no hope from those in elected leadership. I have been abandoned for some time politically. It seems defeat is inevitable. Yet, for some strange unknown reason, I have yet to yield, I have yet to surrender, but I don’t know why.

Wanted: A Christmas Miracle for a friend...
Most times in the holiday season, we think of familiar pleasant good times with friends, family and acquaintances. For my friend, this Thanksgiving past is probably his most trying time ever. His wife suffered from a medical emergency. While at the E.R., she was diagnosed with Leukemia. My friend loves his wife dearly. If it were me, with my relationship with my wife, I would be exactly the consistency of Jello. He has two daughters, 3 and 1. As soon as she was diagnosed with the cancer, her parents got the children, while she was taken to the Huntsman Cancer Center.
I don't know the prognosis of my friend's wife, but I hope all is well. There is hope, but I don't know how much hope is left. If there was a need for a Christmas Miracle, this situation and time is it.
Personally, I have struggled with faith in mankind. I have struggled with hope, and don't know if I believe in Christmas Miracles. I want to believe, and I don't want one for myself or my family. I only hope that the God in Heaven will bless her for the sake of her children. No Child should grow up with out a mother to nurture and love them. If there is a Christmas Miracle to be had, this is the time and the place.

What were you thankful for?
The next day, those not suffering from a binge eating hangover battled life and savings at the local retailer promising incredible sales on the latest this and that for the first four to five hours after opening. The day was sensationalized with the tragic death of some hapless holiday shopper whom has been lulled into a state of spending friezes. This poor person spends aggressively because they have been duped into spending when they should be saving. By saving, I actually mean not spending money, not getting that extra 10% off of whatever gadget or gizmo or thneed (yes I stole that from my favorite author Dr. Susse).
Now comes the next day. Chaos still stands at the edge of a cliff. We are on a stage coach, riding along that cliff on a rough and bumpy trail with blind curve along the entire way as so far as we can see. Currently, our horses are dragging along, without a team master. There is no leader among them, and without the leadership of the team master, they sway to and throw, speed up and speed down, narrowly missing the edge of the cliff from time to time. Occasionally, the security man, with the shotgun tries to get hold of the reigns, without success, trying to will the team this way and that, to spur them on faster… to no avail.
Unfortunately for us, (those inside the stage coach) are urging on a promising new team master. He has thus refused to do anything to stabilize the coach. He sits next to the reigns, telling everyone that he has a plan, picking members to participate in that plan, but has said little to the people in the coach that means anything substantial. Furthermore, the moves he has made, picking the people that lead to this current state of affairs, has not inspired the leaderless coach team, nor those along for the ride.
The next day, it used to mean a time of starting over, a fresh start, renewed. Today, the next day looms over us like a dark cloud of a winter storm, threatening a deep and penetrating cold. The next day, once the epitome of American exceptionalism, an eternal hope that anyone from any background, from any circumstance could and would make their individual dreams come true, according to their intellect, talent, and hard work, now a threat of despair, despotism, tyranny, and socialism / Marxism / communism. In short the total loss of individual freedom.
What can one do to prevent the death of liberty? The only thing that one can do, keep those phone lines hot to the touch. Be in touch with your representatives. Call your senators, and house representative. I know they won’t like it one bit. Remind them that “We the People” are the boss. It is an irritating fact that the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of the United States of America get in the way of total rule of the governed. “We the People” is not just an ideal. “We the People” actually means that the governed determine our own fate.
When the Declaration of Independence was so elegantly written, long standing abuses of government over the governed had been gone unchanged. We stand and the precipice of history. Before us is not only the loss of individual freedom, but those whom are religious, with a resolute belief in the Almighty God, are threatened with persecution. Those that persecute the Godly people refine those people. Either they will be forged as strong steel, able to withstand the bombardment of the persecutors, or they will be brittle, weak and break. As we approach those days, I implore you to study the Declaration of Independence, as you would study for a final exam for a math class. Also study with the same zeal and detail the Constitution of the United States of America. Use the documents to compare any and all ideas, policies, and laws that are handed to us as “solutions” to our problems.
Eventually, I fear that our government will require us to act in ways that contradict those ideas and practices of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. If that day comes, will you be ready and able to defend the Constitution, a sacred document from great and God fearing me: men that resolved to the loss of their own lives if necessary, to bring freedom and liberty to a new nation.
This past thanksgiving, for what did you give thank? Did you ponder the day that we now know, and how it came to be? Now is the time that we dedicate ourselves to the cause of freedom. Now is the day that we declare liberty. Our own homes should be a source of the education in liberty and freedom: a place where our children are taught the cause and cost of freedom. Our homes should be a place where men like Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Adams, Hancock, and Charles Carroll of Carrollton are common, and we should know whom these me were and what they did.
Are you going to be one of the Army of liberty? If that day should come, I hope that I am.

Thoughts that kept me out of the really good schools...
We, the American People, have a unique opportunity before us. We have the ability to shine like a city on a hill. Though dark clouds of doubt and fear threaten to overwhelm each of us, one an individual, can still make a difference.
This total chaos in the financial market and credit market has been terrifying to the standard American. If one lists all the problems that this country faces and how those problems creep into the daily lives of the American individual, it can be and is overwhelming. Add to this problem that there is a true vacuum of leadership, and everything that has been tried, is currently failing in spectacular fashion. Even better, when we oppose any particular “solution” with a clear and loud voice, “We the People” are wholly ignored, upbraided, and scolded for our, “lack of understanding and knowledge”, on the subject.
The commodity of trust is nonexistent, other than we trust politicians to protect themselves at the all cost of the governed. These same elected governors of the people continue to strip individual freedom from the individual in the name of the common good. (Though how the common good is served with freedom taken from the individual is beyond my reasoning to comprehend.) Perhaps once on becomes a politician, they cease to be a homo sapien. I submit that once one becomes a politician, a new genus is created called taxus spendus.
These creatures, some from the geriatric era of civilization, have a truly mercenary instinct. They confiscate from those that produce. If one takes from another without permission, it is called theft. When a government does it, it’s called taxes. To add insult to injury, one is no longer a patriot if one opposes oppressive taxes. These cold hearted, selfish, arrogant, taxus spendus beings in Washington D.C. and state houses across this grand nation are suffocating the general public.
Taxus spendus is a parasite. It leaches on to the general public and does everything it can to control that which it depends on for its existence. Taxus spendus siphons lifeblood from its host. Most hosts are unaware of the lethal danger that is taxus spendus. Indeed, taxus spendus has the skills of the chameleon, disguising itself very effectively as a homo sapien, often mimicking emotion on occasion, and pseudo-intellectual thought. Once taxus spendus has a firm grip on the mind and heart of a homo sapien, that poor homo sapien is then taken over by the taxus spendus, thus the taxus spendus has reproduced. Taxus spendus can also reproduce once taxus spendus finds the opposite gender of taxus spendus.
Taxus spendus seems to thrive along the West and East coast of the United States of America. They are most heavily concentrated in high population centers – cities with over one million in population. While there are strength in numbers, this phenomena can be used against them.
While taxus spendus seems to be taking over all the homo sapiens in the United States of America, there is hope. There is a counter to taxus spendus. Taxus spendus has a weakness. That weakness is logic. Once logic is applied to the actions, proposals, and positions of taxus spendus, there is often a violent reaction. With venom and bitterness, taxus spendus uses all reserve emotion to protect itself. However, with persistent persuasion of truth and logic, even this last defensive measure can be defeated.
Now that you are fully informed on this most dangerous of creatures, you will have adequate defenses against them, with the opportunity to defeat taxus spendus. While total inhalation of taxus spendus is unlikely, a dramatic drop in their numbers is possible, and even likely. Our best chance is to eliminate all the taxus spendus within our own communities first. We first start locally, with your own city. Then move covertly to the county. Once your local government is cleansed of this parasite of taxus spendus, move on to the State level. Eventually, this parasite can be kept in check.
Make no mistake; this is the most difficult plague to reach the American People. It will take a very long time to recover from the damage inflicted upon the American People by the toxic taxus spendus. It will be a long and slow recovery. If we fail to control taxus spendus, taxus spendus will eventually take over the world, and homo sapiens will cease to exist.
This is a call to arms. Start in your own neighborhoods, cities and states. Do it for your children, grand children and great grand children. There is hope, and a future, but you must make that future.
Good luck, and God Bless.

Glad to know there is tollerance
The same can be true of those protesting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Santa Monica. While they are protesting a group of people that was less than 2.3% of those that voted Yes on Prop. 8, it could be argued that the Church perhaps is the most recognizable organization that opposes gay marriage. It's hard to protest millions of individuals, so why not protest a very visual organization.
Basically, my First Amendment Right to "peacefully assemble" is infringed upon when groups act as did those in the article. Personally, I am the type that refuses to be a victim. I would be tempted to protect my rights, with force and violence. To those that think they should disrupt my Sunday service I have three words for you... "Bring it on."

Remembering the blunder years....
My freshman year at Westlake, I conveniently became a faceless nobody. I did not stand out in a crowd, nor did I have any friends. If there was a poster child for loner, I was it. At this time, I never felt worse. No one to talk to, be with, chat, confide in, it was truly a pathetic state. Near the end of the year (sophomore), I was convinced by a kid that band was the place to be. So I joined band. Having missed the marching season, I worked with the concert band. While I was welcomed, I never felt included, perhaps due to the lack of any kind of self worth, or that established clicks of the band were well established. We had a rather grand time though the rest of the year. Our highlight was competition at San Fransisco. We played, were judged, and toured the sites. I looked forward to the next year.
My parents had a rather quick surprise in store for me. In stead of returning to Westlake for my junior year, the uprooted me to Southern Utah, from the comfortable Southern California. This move, in later years have dramatically influenced my life. More on that later. For my junior year at High School, even though I was not in the established clicks of that school, I was socially engaged. I was top dog, the talk of the town, the one that everyone had to be around. I knew it was because I moved in from California. What I didn't expect was that they wanted my "California Connection" to get "real drugs." This was laughable, especially since I was a "goodie two shoes". I had never taken drugs, alcohol, or tobacco in my life, and yet, I was expected, by virtue of geography, to be connected.
While this change was good in the long run, my brother and I rebelled as best we could. I went from a city population of 120,000 to a county of 20,000 and our city was just over 3,000. Needless today, culture shock was an understatement. While in this school I played in Jazz and Concert Band, and wondered why there was no Marching Band. I was placed in the "B" concert band. This band was perpetually below my talent level, and I hated ever microsecond of it. I only stayed with it because I would not be allowed in Jazz band with out participating in one of the two concert bands. I begged, I swore, but there was just convincing that band director of moving me to the "A" Band. So, I put little to no effort into it. I was constantly reminded of how little I was trying by the band director.
At this time, another extra curricular activity caught my attention - technical theater. It seemed I had a real knack for this theater work. I designed, constructed and lit sets. It was fun. It took my mind of off being suppressed in band. While my social skills and standing in prominence in my peer group were rising, I had another 180 turn coming.
Just as I was set to return as a Senior at Dixie High School, we moved to Thousand Oaks, to house sit for my grand parents. So back to Westlake for my senior year. Because I was a "move in" I wasn't there the year before to run for any of the Band Offices. I back to being welcomed, but not included. This time however, I was obnoxious. After having been on the top of the world - such that it was - I was not willingly going to be relegated to second or fourth class status.
Just to interject here, I am certain that no one else in that band would remember it that way, but these were my inner thoughts and feelings at the time.
I spent that senior year involving myself in every aspect of Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Concert Band that I had the time and energy for. At the time it seemed like a lot, now, not so much. I only give this account, simply because I recently became aware of Facebook, and love it. However, there were photo's of times past, at Westlake, and I remembered not being included in groups that are gathered in those photos. There are stories told, stories shared with each photo.
Until I became a member of Facebook, I had for all purposes, disappeared from the Alumni of Westlake High School. Basically I didn't care, and quite frankly had forgotten or suppressed most of those feelings. With the perspective of time, especially for those in those years now, cherish the great and good moments of your young life. While the trying moments can be painful, they give lessons one can't learn any other way. And in time, you will forget or suppress those moments too. I hate to use the cliche, but someday you will understand.

Hope
Times are not so different. We have a crisis of another order. This crisis is building on the foundation of fear and turmoil. Russia is making a play for the Soviet Union of old. Iran is creating the ability to commit ultimate evil. Our own Congress, Senate and previous administrations have actively engaged in the incredible melt down of the economy. Yet, with all the total chaos, with the larges grab of power from the people to the Federal Government, there is till hope.
I found some thing interesting. I found myself on the edge of the abyss of despair. When Congress voted for $700 Billion to be spent, and paid for by our posterity, I felt a crushing blow. It was a very tough day. It's been two days since I have seen or heard a news report. A phenomena that is rather rare for me, and I am a news junkie. Also, I went to worship this weekend. The result of the combination of the two, is a renewed hope. I am reminded of the movies of "The Lord of the Rings". A couple of the themes were, the defeat of evil at all cost, and there is always hope, no matter the odds.
Hope is an elusive element of humanity. It seems that in this world today, hopelessness is preached by all "media". For those whom believe in God, and practice a subscription of righteousness, a perpetual bombardment of relentless attacks on the idea of God and those whom worship Him. Even more insidious, is the celebration of immorality, perversion, sexuality, and hedonism. Media today, with rare but welcome exception is based on the decay of our American society. As a father of several children, I witness the parade of depravity that envelopes my children, even in the most subtle of ways. Also, as their father, I must restrict access to such influential material. While some call it censorship, other call is the responsible raising of children. (I prefer the latter)
In recent years, attacks on organizations that uphold traditions of virtue, morality and personal freedoms have resulted in a decay on society. Such organizations as the Boy Scouts of America are created to help boys become men. The BSA is also under attack because of its affirmation in virtue and morality. Religions are also under attack, as these institutions defend the family as the last best bastion of raising children to adulthood, with the teaching of said religion. Attacks on marriage as defined throughout history as one man and one woman is though archaic and abstract, though centuries of humanity has proven this timeless institution for generations.
Why do I bring this all up, within the idea of hope? Because hope is eternal. Hope comes from the heart. It can not be controlled by anyone other than yourself. Hope is our legacy for all mankind as Americans. The people of the world do not flood to America because there is no hope. Hope drives millions to aspire to become Americans. It seems that some within America has forgotten hope, or ignored hope, or lost hope. Yet for others, hope is all that remains. For me, hope has been reintroduced to myself. I has forgotten hope, as economic good times rolled by. Now, I struggle. I struggle to hope. Hope, however, has not forgotten me. I hope for the future with a renewed vigor. I was going to avoid voting this November, as it seemed hopeless. Instead, I will vote, even while things seem futile.
One other thing I have observed this week. It would seem that the complete and total declaration of the Democrat (Communist) party's victory, prior to the November election was designed to demoralize those whom believe in someone other than Barrack Obama. I view such action as a desperate act to bring despair to the electorate. For me, it almost worked. God has an interesting way of changing the perception of reality. I forget at times that there is a "big picture" that I can't see, because of my personal perspective. That's where hope steps in.
So here's to hope...

Rant...
Other TV problems, well, the few things I watch regularly, Ghost Hunter (I really love this show), How it's Made, Modern Marvels and my guilty pleasure of Two and a Half Men. It's down to this because TVLand removed MASH from its night time line up. It was a perfect way to unwind. It was like curling up with a blanket, cup of tea and good novel that you have read a hundred times, leaving a warm fuzzy with familiarity. Ce la vie, there will be no other like MASH.
Radio - I live in a small town. I think this market would be somewhere in the lower end of the top three billion. The production level of local advertising is enough to wish to suck on a 9mm. It's unlistenable. So what do I do? I listen online. Until recently I took to listening to KFI from LA. Something is wrong with the server now, and I can't get a feed. So its to KLIF from Dallas, WABC New York, WJFK Washington DC, and KABC LA. At least of these major market radio stations, I can listen to the commercials and their production quality, without having the sudden urge to vomit. So in the interest of those whom call me from Arbitron, I DO NOT LISTEN TO LOCAL RADIO - EVER!!!! I listen to CD's in the car, and online at the house and office. In fact, where I live, local radio is damn near impossible considering the local terrain.
Finally, I am sick and tired of politics. I once lived breathed ate and drank politics. I am so tired of the Presidential race. If never see an Obamma or McCain sign again, such joy in my heart would cause all 365 lbs of me to float on air for a month. So for those that must know as of right now whom I will be voting for... EVERYONE THAT IS NOT IN WASHINGTON DC... So that means Mr. Bob Barr - Libertarian has my presidential vote, and Mickey Mouse has the my vote for congress, and the State Legislature. At least a fictional character can't vote in a $700 billion pork laden slavery bond in my name, or raise my taxes claiming I need to be more patriotic. I would call politicians a piece of shit, but at least shit can be used to grow useful things rather than debt, taxes and budgets.

Lament - current events...
Next, the bailout. Let's see, wood studies, wooden arrows, revitalize America Samoa economy, ear mark, ear mark, ear mark... $700 billion for this? HELL NO!!! Our spineless Senators just took over the economy. We might as well be in the Soviet Union of the 70's. Why don't you declare marshal law, and federalize everything. My to Senators, Hatch and Bennett, are colossal wastes of perfectly good hydro-carbon atoms. Colostomy bags have more uses than these two people that represent themselves rather than the State of Utah. Even worse both our presidential candidates voted for this absolute abomination. Our current lame duck President is pushing for the larges grab of the economy ever. If one would read the Constitution of the United States of America, it reads to "promote the general welfare" not provide it. Apparently those sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, just ran over that same Constitution. Will this be the death of the United States of America? At least the death of individual freedom.
For my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, I regret that I can not do more for you to prevent this loss of freedom. Be it known, I did not willingly give away that freedom, nor did I willingly burden you with this destruction of American freedom. If there is not a revolution in my lifetime, may God give you the strength to overcome our coming oppressive government.
Soberly,

To save America...
Not that anyone listens to me, but I have a solution, that won't cost the American Tax Payer for generations to come. All we need to do is suspend ALL taxes for the next 24 months. Every quarter business pay their estimated quarterly taxes. Also individual withholding be suspended. Continue with stopping all Federal Spending with the exception of Social Security and government payroll. These steps would pour $400 Billion every quarter into the economy, all without causing the tax payer to spend one extra cent. So simple it hurts.
Yet I can't get one lawmaker to listen to me. But why would they, I am a mere surf, only to come at their beckoning on election day. I think that Thomas Jefferson was right, A little revolution is good now and then.

Chivalry is not dead
This reaction was not so prevalent for the beating that Mrs. Clinton got. There were cries of injustice and sexism that failed to achieve a victory for Mrs. Clinton. I dare say (with tongue firmly planted in cheek) that Mrs. Clinton has a bigger set than does Senator Obama and Biden combine. While this vulgar observation prods, I march on. What I mean, is that Mrs. Clinton was the better candidate for President of the United States of America with her experience alone as compared to the lack of experience of Barrack Obama. Well the Democrats have made their bed, and now must lie in it (to freely use the cliché).
So we have entered as a wild card Governor Sarah Palin, someone so normal that most Americans with whom outside the large inter cities completely identify. (say that five times fast.) Her experience as an executive of a state is no comparison to the community organizer. I mean really, making budgets, cutting taxes, fighting corruption all are part of her resume. We can’t even get the documentation of the associations of Mr. Obama. I would rather vote the known than the unknown.
Back to the point, the Wall Street Journal reported that 30 lawyers, investigators etc… were sent to Alaska to dig up dirt, and find the smallest skeletons in her closet. So far, they have found nothing. However, the move by her opponents has been viewed as unfair. The personal attacks on her character, and daughter has left a bitter taste of true disgust in the mouths of Americans, and it’s showing in the polls.
Instead of pulling back the punches, the Democrats are redoubling efforts to personally destroy Sarah Palin. It won’t work. Americans are fair minded. They love “truth, justice and the American way”. They love their women, even women leaders, and will not put up with personal attacks on this one. American’s are standing with their voices and shouting down the venom of the wild eyed left wing extreme that are attacking over and over Mrs. Palin. We are witnessing the chivalrous American population stand and defend the woman that reenergized the GOP. America, I salute you. You know a good woman when you see her, and you stand up for her. Way to go.

Tough Choice
The two of you that read this post are probably waiting for my response to the GOP convention and the McCain / Palin Ticket. Well, the fact of the matter is I still don't know for whom I am going to vote. Be it well known that Obama / Biden is not a choice at all. Not unless I want 60% of all I earn to head directly to the federal government whom will redistribute those funds to groups and organizations which I have personal problems and grievances. or the 45% death tax which will be laden upon my widow and children upon my death. So the couple of million in total assets will become less than $900,000. Not to mention the forced labor of a new "volunteer corps" that will be place for my children. (I thought that slavery and indenture servitude was unconstitutional.) But I digress.
For me, it's either McCain / Palin (GOP or Republican) or Barr / Root (Libertarian). I would love to see Bob Barr as President of the United States, only because I am so tired of the same faces in Washington that have kept the same problems in play since Ronald Reagan. In fact I recently read the acceptance speech of Ronald Wilson Reagan. If one replaced or omitted the words Iron Curtain, it would be the identical problems we have today. A bloated and interfering government, a tax burden smothering the economy, too much regulation, enemies abroad that seek our (America's) destruction all still are problems today.
The 12 years of two different Bush's and 8 years of Clinton have exacerbated the problems, not solved them. We have 20 years of light and heavy socialism compared to 8 years of Ronald Reagan. Those 8 years of conservatism where we bounce back from a misery index lead by the anemic leadership of Jimmy Carter. We had double digit inflation, we had record job loss. We had a contrived oil shortage. We had Jimmy Carter telling us to wear sweaters instead of turning up the heater. I wasn’t old enough to vote, but I knew enough to realize what a living breathing joke, socialist and man totally void of a back bone Jimmy Carter was and still is. The stark contrast of Ronald Reagan’s conservatism and the economic explosion and job creation, and tax reduction compared to George H. Bush’s tax increase and budget increase, and Bill Clinton’s tax increase and budget increase, and George W. Bush’s budget increase is breath taking.
I can’t say for whom I will vote. Basically I have not been educated enough on specific programs or policies that will lower taxes, cut budgets, free the people from the bonds of the government to have an informed choice. I have not heard what anyone will do about Iran, or Russia or Afghanistan. I know that in foreign policy, there is one more experienced than anyone else. However his record as a conservative is lacking. John McCain flirts with socialism, and that’s enough to make me think twice about his conservative credentials. His magnificent choice of Sarah Palin, however, is enough to flirt with overlooking his conservative short comings.
If there was one telling thing about how truly conservative Sarah Palin is the total assault on her good name and character that is currently the action of most of the media. Almost criminal, surely in bad taste, and absolutely evil is the current wave that has tried to crush Sarah Palin and her family. This alone is enough to secure her in history as a true conservative. Even better, she has a proven record of cutting taxes, budgets, standing as a standard of conservatism in a “good ol’ boy” network. This refreshing change is exactly what Washington D.C. needs. Unfortunately, it will be four years before she has a real opportunity.
It would seem that both the Democrat and Republican tickets are upside down. In both cases, it would be a stronger ticket if the Vice President nominee were the Presidential nominee. Oh well, we can’t have it all. To summarize, I can say I will absolutely not vote Obama / Biden. I can’t say that I will rule out the GOP ticket either however. I simply don’t have enough information. If the election were right now, today, it would be for me Barr / Root. At least I know that the government would be defunded, and those dollars returned to me and you respectively.

America, change your oil...
I had an epiphany this morning. I was trying to figure a way to explain American Politics and the U.S. Federal Government to the lay person. While pondering these things, I believe I stumbled on to an apt example.
Let’s say that The United States of America is an automobile (a car for those of you with a government education). If America is that car, then the American people are the engine in that car. That engine at time roars with raw power and at other times is at idol. The engine oil in that car would then be the Federal Government, as originally incepted by our Founding Fathers. Over time, the oil with in an engine becomes broken down and filled with contaminates. When the oil becomes dirty and broken down, it’s time to replace the oil and oil filter. Well, our oil is House and Senate, and the Federal Bureaucracy is the contaminants. Enter Rueters / Zogby.
It would seem that according to the latest Rueters / Zogby poll, there might be a mood to “throw the bums out” attitude by the American People. The poll sites a 7% approval of the American people of Congress. This is nothing particularly new. What is new? It would seem that the American people are now in the mood to change their own congressman / congresswoman.
Usually, people are upset with congress; support their own representative in Congress. It would seem this time; there is a desire for “change”. But what caused this change of heart by the American People?
I have a theory. I think that while the American People are working to get kids back to school, pay their bills, pay for an incredible rise in fuel prices, Congress voted themselves into a five (5) week vacation prior to voting on allowing American Companies to dill for domestic (American) sources of crude oil. Personally, I was gratified that the handful of Republicans that stayed issuing speeches on the floor of the House despite the Peloci Politburo cutting the audio, cameras and power.
So, the do nothing Democrats voted a vacation while Americans were paying more than ever for fuel. Even better we were advised to take public transportation and over inflate our tires to participate in hypermiling. I would suggest it’s time to change our oil. It is time to “vote the bums out”. There are Americans right now, ready to change their representatives.
The current conventional wisdom is that the Democrats will sweep the election with the White House, the House and Senate. Zogby, however, hints that there is not an overwhelming support of the Democrats. In fact, there could be a change of power within the Senate, and possibly within the house. The polling also shows an alarming trend for Barack Obama. The more that America learns his core beliefs (what few there are) or the lack of core beliefs, the more this man looks like the latest version of a typical politician. The one thing I know is that America is tired of Politicians. America wants a Statesman.
In short there could be a real change come November, it just won’t be the change that Barack Obama was hoping for.

An interesting thought...
Contrast that to the House this Friday past. The Peloci politiburo, in order to silence the republicans on the subject of the current American Energy crisis, turned off the cameras to CSPAN, the microphones, and the lights in the chamber. Basically, while average American's are scrimping and saving for food and fuel, hoping for better times when they can take a vacation (I am one of them) the Peloci politiburo also known as the Democrat run House of Representatives voted a five week paid vacation. This vacation is paid in full by the American tax payer. This is a grotesque display arrogance, despotism and tyranny on a grand colossal scale. The disgusting display should be repaid in full come the first Tuesday in November. Unfortunately, reality is surreal. We have politicians, not statesmen. We have a love of power over a love of country. The word same is non existant in the American politician. If there was ever a time when we need a real man, an elder statesman. We need help, from an Almighty and loving God. We need to ask for this help.

Barack Obama (shaking his head)
1) While on his summer camp tour of the world, he canceled visiting our wounded boys, reportedly to play basketball instead. Maintaining an exercise regiment is important, but the prospective Commander in Chief neglects the troops for self indulgence? Unless of course, there is a camera crew and reporters at hand for the free publicity.
2) Again while on his summer camp trip around the world, he took every opportunity to throw The United States of America under the bus. Each speech blames the good citizens of the United States, or the current policies that have keep America safe since 9-11.
3) He could not think for himself when giving a press conference without wandering into stutters and stammers. A coherent thought could escape his lips during these escapades.
4) He refuses to break from the Tele-prompter for a live debate with Senator McCain or any conservative pundit on television. His refusal to debate makes me believe that there is an incredible shallowness. He seems to have all the depth of a puddle, reflecting what ever is placed beside him.
5) His proposals for the economy, energy, security, and fiscal responsibility all have a common theme. All Government, all the time. It is truly frightening. The very idea that Government would take over my health care appalls and terrifies me. If Government can't get Medicare right, what makes politician so certain that it will be good stewards of all heath care. Our current energy crisis has been brewing for decades, and yet any attempt to recover our own resources for our own purpose, has been blocked at every turn by the democrats. Even now Nanci Peloci is blocking the America Energy Act, a bill that would start the process of independence of energy. On the security front, Senator Obama's knowledge and wisdom is lacking. Telling our enemy's when we will withdraw is the equivalent of sentencing Iraq to death, with a specific time of execution. And finally fiscal responsibility. One can only shudder when every proposal is taken en mass and evaluated. The amount of money required for each and every proposal by Barack Obama would devastate this great nation. but then, I think that's the point.
While I have waxed long, to sum up, if we elect Senator Obama, as a nation, we collectively would deserve what we get. Though, to be quite honest, we can't afford what Barack Obama wishes. More taxes, more restrictions, more regulations, in short, every burden placed on the productive of society. It's enough to start a revolution.

Tired of Obama
He continues to perpetrate his distain of all those that live between the shore lines, (fly over country). His true colors were shown brightly when his minister preaches hate instead of love. His sermons are political rather than spiritual. When Barack Obama spent 20 years in that church with that minister, Senator, actions speak volumes over your rhetoric.
The most disturbing part of all this affair, his proposals. He want to inflict pain on a mass scale. He wants taxes for everyone to increase, including those living on social security. He refuses to have us drill for our own oil. What better economic security could we have if none of our oil was from foreign sources. We could literally set our own price.
Senator Obama has yet to introduce a new idea. He is recycling all the old ones. Raise taxes, more regulation, more spending, bring the military down to nothing, America is evil and to blame for all the world's problems. I am sick and tired of the bombardment that is this line of thinking. I have long ago shut off the news outlets on Television, finding real reporting of facts without opinion thrown in online from domestic and foreign sources.
So, come this November, I will vote if only to prevent this abomination of a polititian to become the President of the United States. A sad state of affairs. I can't vote for someone, except maybe Bob Barr, I have to vote against someone. It's disturbing.
So while I rant, I also have a plan in action as to not be effected by this slowdown in economics. Perhaps someday soon, I will have a major announcement as to this particular event.
Stay tuned.

The Loss of Tony Snow
While I loved Tony Snow on Fox News Sunday (watched religiously while Tony was hosting), and I loved him as he guest hosted on the Rush Limbaugh Radio Program, and later on his own radio show, I found myself wondering how those whom know and work with me, will remember me when I pass. I did this reflection with the death of Ronald Reagan as well. Will those that know me, remember me as a loving father, husband, with fondness, or will I be remembered short as tyrant and arrogant beyond reason. I can never tell.
It's a testament of character of the love and admiration that was share all Saturday and Sunday. While I reflect on my own life and how I effect others, I will remember the best of Tony Snow. I can not say that I never knew him, but by all accounts, it sounds like I would loved to know him beyond that of host and audience.
God safe home Tony Snow.

Such as Life
My sister-in-law is part of the vast majority that is having problems with paying her mortgage. My own industry has slowed to a perpetual crawl, and hours are being cut. With all the problems I am having, mostly not of my own making, like the astronomical rise in the cost of fuel, I watch what congress solution was. They wanted to add a nice fat tax on the fuel we have now. For all US Congressmen and Senators I have one question for you. How the HELL will taxing existing fuel bring us one extra drop of fuel for us? How will a TAX lower prices? There is not words in the English language adequate enough to express exactly how ignorant, repulsive, and arrogant that is for We the People.
Even better, the two people that running for President of the United States have exactly no plan to relieve the incredible pressures on the average American Financial status. The next four years are going to be extremely painful. And I think that I will really screwed. My wife works full time as a teacher, but if I can't work full time, we are sunk. I can't be the only one in this boat, or overboard that boat.
So what the hell do I do? As far as I can tell, I can't do a damned thing about it. And that is the most frustrating part of all.
