02-10-2010 A DATE WITH DESTINY

May 8, 2010 was the first Major Earthquake in Politics, of which has not been seen since Ronald Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter in monumental numbers. To which do I refer? That would be the failure of Bob Bennett, Senator from Utah to pass the Utah Republican Convention to move on the Primary. Every political commentator at the time dismissed this as a fluke, a tea party takeover of Utah. Make no mistake; this was a 9.4 political earthquake.

What we have been witnessing in established Republican defeat after another are the aftershocks of the people revolting against the political establishment. It is We the People, who are shaking the corrupt foundations of the “party system”. It is We the People who, are making such a quake that the political establishment are still in total shock and cannot function.

This is the time that we stand with “firm reliance on Divine Providence” to guide our actions in the cause of restoring liberty, freedom and our Constitution. This Nov. 2, 2010 we have a clear choice. To quote Ronal Reagan, “…if we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to, this is the last stand on Earth…”

This November 2, 2010 “… you and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope on Earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness…”

Now is the time to pledge to Our God and each other “…Our lives, our fortunes and our Sacred Honor.” That we shall stand as vanguards of liberty for generations hence.

A modern Declaration

When in the course of Human Events, it becomes necessary for the people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them to political parties which were intentionally avoided in structure the Constitution and are the cause of abandoning the Constitution and to resume among the powers of the Earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God entitle us, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that we should declare the causes which impel us to restore the Constitution.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness and Private Property, without the micromanagement of a National Government.

As our government has abandoned the principles that have been instituted for over two centuries ago, and usurped powers not granted them, and obscured and marginalized our Rights as given by our Creator that among these rights are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. These Rights once secured by our government now taken without our consent have looming dire consequences. Now that our government has become destructive of these ends, it is the Right and responsibility of the people to alter or abolish it, and to restore Our Government, restoring its foundation on the same principles and organizing its powers in such form as originally structured in the Constitution of this great nation. “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” Such has been the patient sufferance of the Citizens of these United States of America over the last 100 years: and such is now the necessity which constrains us to alter our operations form of Government. The History of the House of Representative, Senate, Executive Branch and Judicial Branch is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object to the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these many States. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

All departments in all three branches of government has been run according the desires of the political parties and their agendas, rather than statesmanship in deliberating the best of the nation as a whole, to promote freedom, liberty, tranquility and prosperity.

Congress has refused to secure our boarders – threatening our sovereignty.

Congress has failed to curb illegal immigration, and expand legal immigration of those peoples of the world wishing to become citizens of the United States of America.

Congress and the Executive Branch have devalued our currency by fleeing from the Gold Standard and embracing the Debt Standard.

Congress has borrowed excessive monies in contrast to the will of the people – leaving a crushing debt that will take generations to repay.

Congress has absolved their Constitutional authority and duty of creating a standard of value for money and coining money to the private business The Federal Reserve Bank and paying high interest rates to borrow that money, refusing to regulate, audit, or review the workings of that bank or controlling in anyway the bank’s activities.

Congress has with the full support of the President spent trillions of dollars – confiscating private entities – to dictate business to the will of the Executive branch.

Congress has with the full support of the President laid a debt on generations to come – without their consent or representation.

Congress has levied one of the world’s heaviest taxes, fines, fees and levies upon the people of the United States of America without their consent.

The Presidents with the approval of the Senate, representing their political party’s agenda, has appointed Federal Judges that use personal political preferences, or foreign law rather than the Constitution of the United States of America as the Supreme Guidance in Justice.

The President of the United States with the support of Congress has not supported our Military when they have sent our military abroad preemptively, without intention of victory and bring our military home with honor.

The Legislative and Executive Branch have laid into law – without due course and proper procedure levied a heavy tax and burden upon the American People without a vote and usurping the Constitution of the United States of America.

Congress and their political parties have abused their investigative power on private citizens.

Congress has ignored the pleas of the people to stop detrimental environmental legislation.

Congress has corrupted the Legislative Branch with briberies, payouts, powers and dominions to pass or levy legislative burdens on a liberated and free people.

Congress has closed all communications with the people whom sent them to Congress to represent them.

The Legislative and Executive Branch have surrendered our Sovereignty to an International organization or organizations usurping the powers of the people and the United States of America and the justice therein.

The Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches have halted and or ignored a redress of grievances of the people to the government.

Congress and the President have refused to bring a cohesive and comprehensive energy policy that would make the Unites States of America free from dependence on foreign sources.

Congress has violated equal protection under the law by according extra rights to specific minority groups, levying progressive taxes, increasing regulation upon the people and exempting themselves from said regulations & laws.

The Legislative and Judicial Branches have confiscated personal properties and distributed them to the unproductive in society or to immoral or objectionable causes.

All three Branches of Government have strived to drive out the divine, by persecuting God from all forums, both public and private, while exempting themselves from such bands of Divinity in their own respective public specticals.

Congress and the President have supported tyrants, despots and dictators around the world, thereby halting or retracting freedom and liberty to all.

The Political Parties with their professional politicians have orchestrated moral decline, domestic chaos and divided a people along political, social, moral and religious lines.

Congress has refused to recognize the Bill of Rights as individual rights, and it is not in their jurisdiction to regulate them. The Constitution expressly prohibits Congress from acting, thus making these actions as unconstitutional act upon the good Citizens of the United States.

Congress repeatedly increased their own pay on the backs of the American People without the people’s consent.

Congress has eroded society by weakening criminal justice, encouraging moral decline, confiscating the private property of the individual and redistributing to the unproductive of society in the name of social justice.

The President with the support of Congress has usurped power by sanctioning Czars or dictators to dictate policy without legislative review.

Congress and the President have weakened our self defense by eliminating or reducing innovative and revolutionary technologies that would secure our nation from attacks.

The bureaucracy created by Congress has targeted patriots as enemies of the state for political purposes.

Congress and the President of the United States have ceased to promote the United States of America as the Greatest Nation on this Earth and set forth an example of freedom and liberty for the world to follow – NOT for the union to join in their socialism.

Congress has ignored the individual communications of current critical issues when brought to the legislature for vote – thereby passing legislation without the consent of the governed.

The Political Parties has created a system by which individuals without the two party system may not participate in being elected to office in the State and National levels.

Congress has been deceived into passing legislation to usurp the independent powers given to the people of Puerto Rico, allowing for the “Tennessee Plan” to be implemented once again, against the will of the people.

In every stage of these Oppressions, we have petitioned for a redress in the most civil and humble of terms. Our redresses have been met and answered with repeated insult and injury. An elected official or officials, whose character is thus marked every act which may be defined as a tyrant or tyrants, it unfit to lead and or rule a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our elected representatives in both the House and the Senate. We have warned them from time to time of their attempts by their legislature to extend the unwarranted expansion of the Government over the People. We have reminded them of our commerce, employment, and our independent lives in our station of our lives. We have appealed to their sense common justice of mankind, and to a common cause of liberty and freedom, and we have called on them by our common ties of elected and electorate to disavow these usurpations of power that rightly belongs to the people of the United States of America. They too have been deaf to the voice of the people when the people have called on them for their will to be delivered, in the equal justice guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. We must therefore repeal our power in which we entrusted upon them, and hold them as Enemies of Freedom, Liberty, and Justice.

We, therefore, as the People of the United States of America, in general consent by the undersigned, appealing to a Devine Supreme Judge in the Heavens above overseeing all the world for guidance in our actions, do in the Name of the Constitution of the United States of America and the people of which it protects and empowers, declare that we categorically Absolve the trust and power in which we trusted the Legislature, and Executive elected officials. And by common consent of We the People recall the elected officials in the House of Representatives, Senate and Executive, as we declare that we are a free and liberated people. We recall the powered entrusted to these people, that a free people may remain free, for generations hence, that according to the Constitution of the United States, we have the right to pursue Commerce, promote the general welfare, and provide a common defense and all other acts in freedom of the individual, without the interference and influence of a central government. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance of the God above, we mutually pledge our Lives, our Fortunes, our Liberty, and our Sacred Honor.

Ever add up the little life's lessons we learn? Ever evaluate that which you had to over come? Recently, while bogged down in my own misery and indulgence in self pity, (not a pretty picture for a tub o' slob that I be) started evaluating those little twists of life that seem to kick a guy square in the crotch, and just as you recover from that one, you get kicked again, and again, and again. Things that were once so incredibly traumatic, seem in retrospect minor and almost nostalgic for those "simpler times". I would expound on personal experience of the past, but they seem so minor now that they are hardly worth mentioning. So during this economic malaise that we are so fortunate to participate, for those whom carry on know that this is for your own good, and shall make you stronger. This shall give you experience. William Shakespeare said, "Sweet are the uses of adversity." I try to take it to heart.

A Open Letter to Congress

To every member of Congress, both dead and alive since 1880

How dare you. In my quiet hour of desperation and determination, you continue to thwart the will of the people whom entrusted their Republic upon you. You, whom swore an oath to God that you would protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, continue to desecrate your office and sacred oaths. Is there not one honorable member among you whom shall be the one unpopular with your peers but ever the vanguard of freedom and liberty? Shall no one entrusted by election of their constituent body be the giant among mankind and lead this - the greatest nation on Earth - to a bold return to core principles and values. Will not one stand forth and tell the truth. Is there one that will tell the nation in plain simple language that spending must be cut, taxes must be cut, and honor restored to a corrupted and cancer riddled body?

My entire life, you have stolen my birthright as an American. You have weakened my country’s security in the name of political correctness. The protection of our boarders has been nothing more than a political football. Our rights are trampled and thrust down further nearly on a daily basis with the new and unconstitutional proposals flooding Washington D.C. You have devastated the worth of our Dollar such that in my lifetime Gold has risen from $200 to an astronomical high of $1200 an ounce. You squander the people’s money as if Parker Brothers and not the Federal Reserve is printing it. You thrust your ill fated agenda items upon a people whom clearly do not want it. When we call to complain or voice opinion you cut all sources of communication. We call a lie a lie and we are called extremists.

You shall one day be called to a reckoning of your actions. You will have to answer for your deeds. Be it in this life or the next, you will be called accountable for your actions. This November an election of historic proportions will be taking place. Our President has started the blatant and bold bribes of “Stimulus” money by promising $1.5 billion be given to Las Vegas. Anyone with half a working brain will remember that on no less than two public occasions the President called out Las Vegas, Nevada as a place you may not go. Interesting enough, Nevada at the time is considering changing their State Constitution to allow larger counties to have legalized prostitution. Barry seems to have found a way for the residence of Las Vegas prostitute themselves legally.

We the people are tired of this perpetual bombardment of evil flowing like a raging torrent pounding our very souls to dark and looming existence. Our birthright, as intended by the Founding Fathers, is that every generation to be given the opportunity to thrive on their own. It was our responsibility to have better lives than our ancestry. We were to be innovative, productive and proactive in our lives as to better life for the next generation. You have destroyed the will of the people, confiscated their wealth, desecrated their souls, corrupted their government, cheated their hope, slandered their faith, and corrupted their spirits. You, you alone are focus of bitterness and vile wrath of the people which shall come. And you are the only ones to blame.

Each of you had the choice to the right thing, or the easy thing. Each of you could have made the harder but necessary choice to be the Giant among men. Most of you, rather, chose to confiscate power from the people. You chose to punish the achievers. You chose to thwart the sanctity of marriage. You chose death over life. You chose overwhelming debt rather than fiscal and personal responsibility. You chose the end of the Republic for your own power.

There is nothing more despicable than you right now. In the short span of 9 months, there will be either a reckoning or you will complete your power struggle and the last stand of freedom will have vanished. We the People will have been turned into a relic of the past and indeed the great experiment will have ended.

For the sake of your children and mine, please be the one that stands for freedom and liberty, even at the cost of your career or at worst your life. We honor those men and women that sacrificed all they had even their life for freedom, let this be your finest hour.

From recession to depression

Ronald Reagan was right, again. A recession is an economic slowdown with layoffs, until it effects you. Then it is a depression. Well, for me it's a depression. No... I am not saying I have been laid off. Though if something doesn't change soon, it's coming. I am saying I have gone from hopeful and energetic to bitter, frustrated, depressed and extremely tired in an 8 month period. It's been extremely difficult to get motivated to do anything. I just don't know what to do...

Potential Conservative Victory 2010

Did Janet Nepolitano just give a total victory to conservatives in 2010? Consider the following:

Either 1 - Secretary Nepolitano is just a figure head, and the President is micromanaging every little thing from the oval office, or…

2 - Ms. Nepolitano is the single most incompetent administrator of all time.

Either way, don’t expect to see Ms. Nepolitano to be long lived in the Obama Administration. Even as of right now, as reported in the Salt Lake City Examiner, they are reporting the HSA Secretary to resign for personal reasons.

The fact is that the most colossal and complete failure of security checks has been exposed with a would-be terrorist that could have cost the lives of 300 innocent people. Given the two scenarios above (figure head or incompetent) that would mean a safe and secure United States of American is not a priority for the current President. Realizing such things to be said are alien in nature, it is the only conclusion that can be logically reached given the facts.

Knowing that this Administration cares little for the safe and secure America, it couldn’t be very hard to use this particular point in the coming elections. The GOP were wise would use this moment to solidify a great ever present issue that is foremost on the minds of Americans. With the addition of the quarter hearted surge in Afghanistan and the pathetic show of mourning for the deaths of innocence in Texas, a pattern of little regard for the lives and safety of Americans is being displayed in a new and bold fashion. Never in my life time, nor my grandfather’s life time for that matter has there been a commander in chief so blatantly liaise et fair about the security of U.S. citizens.

This shouldn’t really surprise anyone what so ever. The previous President was no better in this issue. If one were to take a serious study of our nation’s borders, one would see a sieve with a gigantic hole in the middle. I would go on about airport security, but we just had perfect pattern of total failure in security, given the perfect of circumstances to prevent that terrorist on that plane.

Blame however cannot be contained to the Executive branch alone. Unfortunately, the Democrats and Republicans in the Senate share responsibility for putting either a figure head or incompetent in charge of homeland security. I believe a third of that body is up for re-election. Perhaps they should suffer the consequences of their serious lack of judgment by being fired from their current positions.

Are we as citizens going accept this level of incompetence? Are we going accept this total disregard for YOUR VERY LIVES? I seem to remember in the Declaration of Independence that, “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” Are we willing to call Congress, the Senate and the Executive destructive of these ends? I report, you decide. You must decide what kind of citizen you will be. Are you to be the steward of freedom or the mindless minion of the bidding of the Elected?

Resolutions

Once again it’s time for the ominous New Year’s resolution. What’s your resolution? Is it the proverbial “to get in better shape” or loose “X” amount of pounds off an arguably obese body? Or perhaps it’s to simply survive yet another bleak economic year? Whatever your resolution is, have you prepared yourself to fulfill your goals?

Make a resolution is the easy part. Taking the small but necessary steps to achieve that goal, well – to be clichéd, it’s easier said than done. A wise man once told me, “Most men dream, a small percentage of those dreamers achieve. Those, whom have achieved, worked hard to achieve.” What are you willing to do to achieve? Are you willing to put down that cake and have a carrot, or (heaven forbid) rice cake (eeewwwww!). Are you willing to take the daily half hour and workout first thing in the morning, or perhaps at the end of a long day? Are you willing to work those extra hours to assure the continued success for your employer’s business? Are you willing to step out on your own to start a business and leave the comfort zone of someone else having the responsibility of earning more income than expenses? Have you though out a daily plan to be executed for purpose of achieving your goal?

If not, like so many of us in years past, we will break that resolution nearly as fast as we came up with it. Most of us don’t plan to fail, we simply fail to plan. And that failure to plan creates a substantially higher probability of failure to achieve our goals. So in the next few days when you have a quiet moment or two, take time to plan those things that can help you in your endeavor to achieve. Help yourself give yourself the very best chance as success possible. For once you achieve, the next time will be much easier because you have done it once before.

GOD BLESS GLENN BECK

Could it be that we are witnessing history repeat itself? On September 11, 2009 tens of thousands ( and arguably hundreds of thousands) of Americans took Washington D.C. by storm – almost literally. Catching authorities off guard and being referred to in derogatory, demeaning and mocking terms like “truthers”, “tea baggers”, etc… these Americans both Democrat, Republican and Independents, met to voice protest not just against the President, but also Congress and their blind blissful following of the President’s agenda.
One thing is certain, the administration and the main stream media have selected Glenn Back as their “ring leader”. Mr. Beck’s participation could be described as the same involvement that Paul Revere had in the famed battle of Lexington and Concord in April 1974.
What most American’s don’t know and are rarely taught is that in the months preceding that midnight ride of Paul Revere, many events were taking place. First on the British side, Lord General Gage – then Governor of the Colonies, and Commander in Chief of His Majesties Royal Army and Navy, was being pressured if not ordered by parliament and His Majesty to remove all munitions, gun powder and artillery from the colonists, as the militias throughout the colonies all had such weapons. Paul Revere, along with the Sons of Liberty and the various Committee of Safety (which were in nearly every community), has set forth networks of communication. Wherein any troop movements of the British were underway, the colonists could and did respond quickly. By the time April 1774 had arrived, the British had taken the armories of several communities, but had failed in others, once the Colonists realized their arms were being taken.
The night that Paul Revere had taken his ride into the Boston countryside, he was not shouting, “The British are coming! The British are coming!”. Rather he was alerting this network which worked its way back to several counties, communities and villages to bring the militia ready to defend the armories of Lexington and Concord – that there would be time enough to remove the gunpowder, guns and munitions and hide them.
Glenn Beck could literally be our modern Paul Revere. On March 13, 2009 Mr. Beck set forth the 9-12 Project. This project was to connect Americans that they might not feel alone while the total chaos of an out of control government might make them feel so utterly isolated. The 9-12 Project has leaders – average citizens – doing the work of organizing, encouraging and participating in voicing the concerns of the people to a group in leadership positions refusing to listen to their constituencies. All Mr. Beck really do was to set up networks, just as did Paul Revere. Paul Revere was in a unique situation as to mingle with the leadership, aristocracy (as it was) and the common man. He was able to bring others together in settings that would otherwise not be possible socially. Glenn Beck has done more or less the same thing, using the most modern of technology available, as did Paul Revere. The difference is that information won’t take a day or two to reach the countryside, but rather it is worldwide and instantaneous. Love him or hate him, Glenn Beck is helping to shape our current history and the future for generations to come. Someday, quite possibly Glenn Beck will be one of those mythical legends just as our Founding Fathers are today.

Why is it that every time I try to start a business, the Government does every thing in its power to thwart me? In the 90's I tried to start three businesses. The first attempt was derailed by Bill Clinton's new tax hikes, making it impossible for me to get ahead enough to save enough money to start. The second time, Clinton again threw a monkey wrench into the works by requiring regulation changes to the SBA standards. Basically because I am a white male, I didn't qualify for any SBA assistance. In fact I was told by the local SBA administrator to resubmit the project under my wife's name, because it would be easier since she was a woman. The third attempt was blocked by the State. Both sides of the isle was to blame for new regulation making the amount of paper work required for such a business cost prohibitive.

Now, I am working on my dream of owning my own business. Mr. Obama is threatening via his flawed policies to tax me into oblivion, confiscate my God given freedom and independence in my health care, destroy my dollar's purchasing power and regulate every aspect of my life as punishment for daring to be an individual. I shouldn't be surprised, I mean I am a white male, therefore I am the most hated reviled and impuned group which is politically correct to persecute for the color of their skin.

Life goes on, I march to my own beat. I patiently await for delivery of the next step toward my particular dream. Though I must admit my patience is wearing thin. Meanwhile, I die a slow painful economic death. My wife was laid off, effectively cutting our house hold income by a third. Beans and Rice will be on the menu for some time to come.

When I read the founding fathers, especially Benjamin Franklin, I am amazed at the total foresight that these incredible men had. They repeatedly warn us of finding people of good and moral character to represent us, and the consequences of a failure to do so. Those consequences we are living now. A generation of mediocrity aristocracy have lead us down the primrose path to this economic flop. Soon, we will have no place to share an opinion in opposition to that of the State, as that will be deemed as a threat to the State and I be labeled an enemy of the State.

If you think that I am loony, and perhaps unbalanced, remember that these steps were taken not only by the Socialist Party of Germany, but by the Communist Party of both the Soviet Union and China. Everyone today can see the blatant censorship that reigns China's press, internet, and broadcasts. In the former Soviet Union, the lunar landing was heavily censored. Reagan's elections and speeches were censored. Even television programing was banned. Today a bible is contraband in Saudi Arabia as are all religious works other than that of Muslim. Even Iran censored the protests as best they could when the "election" took place. The historic prescience for suppressing a free exchange of ideas is staggering, and have always taken place when those in power decide that the governed will not thwart their desires. The current health care debate is a prime example of the beginning of the tyranny of the minority. It's an ugly fact. Are were as a people strong enough to withstand the brutal and personal attacks that we surely shall face.

233 years ago 53 men signed their, "...lives, fortunes and sacred honor..." Shall we as a free and independent people arise to the standard that those men set for us? Should I be beaten, arrested or even slaughtered in the name of freedom and independence, then shall I be worthy to stand with those men that committed high treason to the crown and started a new nation.

So, it comes down to this. Do we abandon all that was sacrificed by the men and women that maimed their bodies, bruised their psyche and spilled their blood in the name of the very republic that is being transformed before our very eyes? Or do we as a people stand firm, resolute that the Republic will endure, as it was designed back in the later part of the 18th century? Will our generation become the next greatest generation willing to sacrifice all that our children and posterity hence will be free from the bondage of a crushing debt and sinister over burdensome government? Are we the people with the character to build a nation that welcomes all whom legally enter, and make them her own? or are we willing to abdicate our convictions in the name of political correctness?

Some have suggested that we the people are struggling for an identity. That we are having an identity crisis. (everything is a crisis now days it seems) I disagree. We were a sleeping giant. We were able to perform miracles in the 1940's turning from a slumbering citizenry to a swarm of angry hornets ready to destroy those whom attacked our home, and their allies. Today, we the people have been compared to Nazis for voicing an opinion differing from the State. We Americans have been called un-American for opposing a government take over of a free and liberated people. We have been verbally spit upon, physically assaulted and punished for daring to seek our representatives to redress our grievances against Government take over of health care. Our injuries have been repeated, and will continue until we the people will be brought to a fury that will sustain a restoration or revolution.

Our arrogant and blustering windbags called representatives have a new disdain for we the people. Their over bearing rhetoric suppressed by a mainstream media, but revealed by a new media serve as evidence bile riddled venom cursed on the American public. They mark us as a target. The White House, once a bastion of character and decency is now marred with a stain on a dress and a knife in the back of the hard working moral society that put the current president in office. My words here may only be read by a few now, and with God's help by more in generations hence, but know that We the People will return power to the people as it was designed by the most brilliant people in all history.

An Open Letter to every Citizen of the United States of America

My Fellow Americans,
We the People are engaged in a monumental war. This war has been waging since a little before the turn of the 19th century. This is a war of tradition, morality, virtue, deity and character versus progressivism, relativism, vice, socialism, immorality and perversion. While the latter may not be organized as one entity to wage this war, they none the less are united in a common cause: The total destruction of the individual and his/her freedom to pursue their happiness. This war is not by guns, bullets, swords, bombs and troops. This is a war by words, deeds, and personal involvement. By now, the first casualty of this war has been long since passed. That casualty is the character assassination of our Founding Fathers. Such valiant men, whose memory has been desecrated and marginalized for the sole purpose of rendering our Founding Documents from immortal, inspired, powerful and true to impotent, weathered, relative and weak; in other words, to excuse the erosion of our Republic through immorality and relative personal character.
Our Constitution and the affirmed God given Rights there in are under threat, like no other time in our history. In years past, our enemy – those whom would destroy the Constitution – has been of foreign origin that is from without our Country. Today, the assault is from with our boarders, even from those within our elected body. From the days of our founding, those brave men that signed their death warrant, known as The Declaration of Independence, warned of these abominations in these late days. In my lifetime, there has been one President of the United States of America whom could stand proud, and feel as if he were among peers when met with our Founding Fathers in the heavens above. That would be Ronald Reagan. One must ask oneself, could you see President Obama, Clinton, Bush, Bush, Carter, or Ford look the likes of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson in the eye and answer that they did uphold and promote the principles of a free republic?
It is not the President of the United States alone, whom must answer to those men in the next life. The legislative branch (Congress) shall also be called to answer for their actions. I dare say that the perverted state of affairs (both personal and of the state) has made Congress as an institution in which there is little or no trust that they – Congress – will do the right thing. This particular part of the war is critical. We are at a moment in time where We the People may in fact can turn the war around and win not only the battle, but win the war. Much like George Washington in the war for our independence, a turning point was reached, when then General Washington took the initiative, and took his enemy by surprise in the winter of 1776 at the battle of Trenton. We now have our opportunity.
On April 15th, 2009 We the People, took to the streets in peaceful protest. We wanted our elected leaders to know of our displeasure of their arrogance and their discontent for the electorate. We let them know in one voice, enough. Alas, our voices were thrown on deaf ears that would not hear. Since that time we have had a President take powers that are not rightfully his and a congress willing to give him those powers, or at least simply not willing to oppose him. We have has legislation that is not only bad for America, but for the world at large. We have had out of control spending, a plummeting dollar, skyrocketing unemployment, stagnant wages, unproductively, unprecedented governmental takeovers of private industries, elimination of personal freedoms and liberties, and a new debt so large, there possibly is no way to ever repay it. In fact, this debt is so large that earliest independent estimates to repay this crushing debt will take up to three generations of Americans having more than half their total income confiscated for this debt.
I understand your plight. With all the information now available, apathy seems the only route to maintaining one’s sanity. Ask yourself this question: are you willing to enslave your posterity to pay a crushing debt, unable to pursue their happiness, eliminate their freedom and liberty that this government, as currently constituted may have their power? On this the 233 anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, are you ready to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, from enemies foreign and domestic? Are you willing to stand, alone if necessary to declare right over that which is wrong? Are you willing to be called a racist, bigot, homophobe, etc… in the preservation of freedom? Are you willing to be arrested, placed in jail – a political prisoner – for the protection of liberty? Are you willing to die, that generations hence will live in liberty and freedom that they may live to pursue their happiness? We once had people in this great land of ours that would. Today we call them patriots.

When it rains, it pours...

So on my Facebook account, I did announce that I have Type II Diabetes. This was quite some shock, as I have been relatively health most (other than my "gross obesity")most of my life. This is has been some adjustment. I am learning all the fun side effects, redo all my eating habits, and adjusting to new medication. The most fun is the race to the bathroom as I pretend I have a faucet attached to my rear end.

But that's not enough, our IT serviceman deleted ALL our files at work. He's recovering the data now, however, I have nothing to do. That happened Wed. nite. So I can't work, my time from the first is gone, I don't get paid for non work, and money is running very short. I am in real trouble here.

All these stresses, are not helping my body, which reacts poorly when I have this kind of real problems. My tendency is to get several boxes of Little Debbie's Brownies, and indulge as many as possible, as quickly as possible. Now with the diabetes that options out. Though irony would be suicide by an over indulgence in Little Debbie Brownies.

Odd things keep happening....

While I sit and worry of potential disasters that are to hit our country, there are side trips off that path which I have chosen for my life. God has this interesting knack of correcting my course, when I so choose to leave his course. These deviations from his course are not without consequence. In fact most often, in my experience, the consequences of being off of his path are forever life altering, and life long lasting.

I chose some years ago to marry a young woman, whom I love passionately, and whom I thought reciprocated that love back. I was tragically wrong on nearly all counts. This disaster, while minor in the long term, but devastating at the time, has had lasting impact on me. At the time of our divorce, she swore in an affidavit that we had no children, nor were expecting children between us. Five months later, a dear friend called to announce the birth of my daughter. This has haunted me since, though not in the way one might think.

All my life has been dedicated to first my God, then my Wife, and then my Kids. Everything else pales in comparison. Indeed, I have been fired for choosing family over work. I made that choice, and have never regretted it at all. For me, family is the greatest institution endorsed and sanctioned by God. That literally means that the Family is a sacred unit. I as the man, am responsible for that unit. Through this perspective I view all the world. Therefore it has always pained me that I have never seen my daughter, other than a single polorid about three months after her birth. Because of the nature of the breakup between my Z-wife and myself, I was cause to believe that I was not the father and sued for a paternity test. The result was 97.8% positive. It actually broke my heart, and my anger and bitterness to my X-wife and women in general deepened.

Over the years, I have researched my X-wife, daughter, and her daughter, that I was to someday adopt. I found my X-wife, and today I found her oldest daughter online. I have very mixed feelings. Do I start a dialog that hasn't occurred in over 15 years? Do I leave sleeping dogs lie? My nature is to stir up that hornets nest, and watch the ensuing chaos. I suppose that the best thing to do is ponder and pray, and perhaps someday, God willing, I will have a relationship with my daughter that is unclouded by the years of my X's indoctrination of the person she perceived me to be.

There's only been two whom I loved enough to dedicate all that I am to them. The first one so kindly left me on our first year wedding anniversary, leaning a looming distrust of all women in general, and a hollow bitterness inside. It took years to forgive her, and more years to become fully trustful of women.

The second, is the gal to whom nearly 14 years ago consented to be my bride for all eternity. There isn't much I can say that would be adequate to the task of expressing my love, devotion and gratitude of my best friend, and if the English language indeed have the proper words for the occasion, my skill with words would only mock the tender and deep feelings I have for my wife.

The other women and young ladies with whom I was infatuated have slowly but surely reunited with me through one website or another. I shall not name them. I am certain that each and every one of them had absolutely no idea that I ached inside just to be in the same room, though like so many obese boys with a personality to compensate for my short comings, merely blended into the blurred background. For years I was in that position, dreaming of someday having the courage to have a relationship with any one of those gals, but never summoning the courage to do so. As a result, I indeed had exactly three dates in high school.

Even better, it wasn't until the second half of my Freshman year of college that I even had a girlfriend. I tried to be with one particular gal who live on campus, but was thwarted by several other guys and the infamous "I just want to be friends." If there was ever a cause of impotence in men, it's that line right there. Someone might as well pull our a nude picture of Hellen Thomas. It's an arousal Kryptonite. Well, I married that girl friend, and she became the x-wife. (I didn't know she was crazy, until I met someone normal, like my wife.)

I reminisce of these times, as I have said in a previous post, because of Facebook. For those of you women whom I fantasized of whom my deepest desire was to be with you, I am sorry I did not have the courage to be the man I should have been, nor the physique that would attract you to me. The fact of the matter is I have always been fat, obese, huge and otherwise grotesque. It is something I have finally come to terms. It's a part of me, and the source of my sardonic / sarcastic sense of humor. I have oft though if this brain was in that body of mine then... and of all the things I could have been... but that game is almost useless, unless it motivates you to be a better you tomorrow.

Alas, being the odd man out, was a perpetual position, a situation seemingly sentenced to singleness and solitude. (say that three times fast). Back to the present and or future, I am struggling with hope. My career is halted, and if things don't improve VERY soon, it will retreat. Though I would love to chat over my current personal project, prudence prevents this revelation. When the appropriate time comes, (and I would love that to be very soon) I will make a public announcement. It will indeed hit Utah by storm, and very well could make an impact in so many lives as to remain uncounted. Or, it will be a total, colossal, great and complete failure. (keep thinking those cheerful thoughts). As before, time draws short, and it is time for bed. (as I raise my cup) so here is to a better tomorrow, may the government do absolutely nothing!!!

It's been a while...

For the relatively few of you that actually take the time to read my little unimportant blog, I have yet something else. In essence, my mind is a scatter. I have focused like a laser on a personal project for the last year and a half. Today was the first step in achieving that particular goal. Because of all the buildup emotion and hard work came to a relative head today, the emotional release and required satisfaction was somewhat lacking. Thus I find myself lacking in that focus. Perhaps I need to step back a little and take a breather. What I really need to do, is make a to do list and then prioritize it. In all actuality, there is so much to do, that is seems overwhelming. However, just like eating the cliched elephant, I just have to take it one bite at a time. It's just a little hard with my A.D.D. personality.

Speaking of A.D.D. - Tomorrow is tax day. It is also the collective Tea Party day. I don't know that I will be attending one. I thought I might, however, it comes at a bad time of day, and I live rather a far distance from it. Also, while others push forward in the effort to make our employees (i.e. politicians) listen to us, this is just the line drawn in the sand. All I personally want, is a true return to the Constitution of the United States of America, not some interpretive narrative limp wristed or bastardization of it. To those thieves on Capitol Hill and at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., would you kindly leave us the hell alone. Stop spending, stop taxing, stop, STOP, STOP!!!! My kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren can never repay the crushing debt that we are accumulating now. I have called my Senators and Representative. I have emailed them. The ONLY response is a letter from my Rep. that basically states, "F-U, you don't know enough to question me". I dare say that my I.Q. is at least twice his, but that's not saying much if my estimated I.Q. of him is about 40.

Finally, Facebook. I don't know if I like it all that much anymore. I recently had someone look me up. This presented a problem. This particular gal broke my heart, but then, she never really knew how I felt about her. I was such a coward then, and never knew what courage it took to pursue the happiness of female companionship (and I am not talking sex). At the end of my senior year of high school, I finally gathered the courage to ask her to Grad Night at Disneyland. She accepted. What I didn't expect, was that halfway though the evening, I was abandoned when she found her boyfriend there. Crushed, I cruised Disneyland the rest of that evening alone or the "odd man out". I was miserable. What made it worse, is that including this trip to Grad Night, I had a total of three dates in High School. First was Home Coming at a new school as a Junior. Second was the one gal I waned to be with most, taking her to Phantom of the Opera, (Senior Year) only to never hear from her again. My dating average was a perfect 0 for 3. Going into college I had absolutely no confidence in having any kind of relationship with the opposite sex whatsoever. What I didn't realize at the time, was that was preparatory for the really big ditch of my x-wife when she left me on our first year wedding anniversary. The shock of abandonment wasn't nearly as devastating as it could have been because of being left alone and very lonely in Disneyland. Ironically, I haven't though about any of this for years, until yesterday, when she got a hold of me on Facebook. I also reflected that I was a rather great nobody in High School. I had, but few friends. This translated to college as well. However the few friends that I have, seem to make it a life time of friendship. It still strikes me as rather odd, that after years of believing that I had almost no impact on anyone's life, that many would let me know that over time, I had in some measure influenced for good or evil others. I think that these two events are the root of my total paranoia of being abandoned by my (current) wife. I know it's totally silly. I mean we have been married nearly 14 years. If she were leave me for any one of my plethora of faults, it would have happened by now.

Well I ranted enough for now, and it's bed time. The real shame of it all is I know I am the ONLY ONE that will read this in a few weeks time and think, "What exactly in thee hell were you thinking?" I am realy good at kicking myself around for a good long time.

And the storm builds....

Well, once again I write for no one. The last Tower of freedom is crumbling from within. This week past, once again the cowards of smart placed an even larger burden on our children, grand children and great grand children. HR 1 - "The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009" passed the conference report in both the House and Senate. The CBO (Congressional Budget Office)calculated no growth from this, and even more pain for the American people. For those representatives and Senators that were being inundated from their employers, i.e. those whom they represent, shut off lines of communication because they did not want to hear it from the masses. Effectively, we the people were disenfranchised. Not that we are particularly surprised, however, it's no less infuriating. How dare they. If I refused a direct appeal from my employer, it would be exactly the time it took to collect my personal gear and get out of the building before I was invited never to return. For every Representative and Senator that did just that, they should head home and face those constituents and explain why they refused their calls. I know I would love to talk to my Representative live on television and when their story is told tell them exactly what bullshit it is.

There is a great problem in our country, no one, and I mean no one trusts the government. The government is too big, to cumbersome, to involved in individual lives. Reading the founding documents of this country, it was intended for the individual to work out their individual prosperity, in the manner best suited by that individual. In other words, the government was never meant to provide anything other than defense, justice, laws and community of equality. Today, the government thanks to politicians are promising prosperity to any willing to accept their terms. They propel the problem by creating an atmosphere where conducting commerce is difficult at best, and in the eyes of many politicians - criminal at worst. Anyone not subscribing to the all mighty government for physical and spiritual needs is perceived to be a traitor.

I oft return to the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. "When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate but equal station the Laws of Nature and Nature's God, to decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." Boiled down to the layman, we have the right, and duty to rebel when we are oppressed. I know that government computers are reading this now, and I don't care. I not yet advocating revolution, rather I warn that there is one coming soon if our benevolent dictators of 435 Representatives, 100 senators, 7 Supreme justices and one President don't change course, keeping "We the People" from determining their own course. A victory of only 52 some odd percent is not license to ram rod any whim, even if it is the first black President in US History.

A revolution now, would be costly in blood, and spirit. Anyone reading the conditions of the first revolution will start to see spooky yet familiar trends. There is a general low level of discontent. Our representatives remain distant from the masses in a surprising way considering just how quickly information is spread these days. The next couple of key indicators of our oppressive government will be the control of fire arms, religion, money (gold) and health care.

Economically, we are in deeper trouble than we realize. Last week, another key indicator started which proceeds every round of inflation. Gold and Silver are starting to be bought by countries and companies. This means that Gold and Silver are starting to spike. Gold is on the move is the standard term. The question will be how long before hyper inflation starts. If there is a shortage of food in the US combine with hyper inflation, there could be a breakdown of society, as people that have no food start to move on those "fanatics" that have food storage. Those that were like the ants when the grasshopper played will be charged of hoarding, rather than being cautious and prepared. Hopefully, those with food storage, will also have the means to protect themselves and their property, (i.e. food). Of course, this is the "worst case scenario" - but when it take a victory or loss of a team to have mass riots in the streets, I don't think a food shortage wouldn't cause one.

Mexico is on the verge of collapse. Even better, our southern boarder is as wide open as ever. One would have a better chance of stopping the rain with their mind than protect our boarders with the resources, procedures, directives and political tactics that are currently in place. I fear that Texas will not tolerate such conditions much longer. Even better, last calendar year, there were over 100 people caught crossing our southern boarder, of Arab decent. If this doesn't cause pause, let me spell it out for you. Al Queda is till out there, wanting to destroy the US. This is not opinion, it is fact. They are probing our boarders and finding our weaknesses. The scenario could play like this: an event like that of 9-11, where it is found that the Mexican Boarder was the source of infiltration. I don't think there would be any law or penalty for breaking it that would stop Texans from protecting their boarder. As we speak there is an incredible drug war taking place on both sides of the boarder. Kidnappings from San Diego to Phoenix are taking place. They are demanding ransoms cash equivalent to the lost drugs to the DEA for the freedom of human beings. Even as recently as last November, law enforcement in North Mexico suffered a tragic blow as these barbarians beheaded members of law enforcement. We are witnessing evil on an unprecedented scale at our door step - and our benevolent government does exactly nothing.

And finally the best news of all, Iran has entered the space race. They can deliver a communications satellite to space in a intercontinental two stage ballistic missile. In a completely unrelated story, Iran has the technology and intelligence to make a nuclear war head. Add the rhetoric of their looney toons President Mahmood Ahmadinijahd, who regularly calls to hasten the delivery of the promised one. For Christians, this promised one is eerily like the one described as the Anti-Christ. In order for that to happen, they - the leaders of Iran believe that they must destroy the "Little Satan" - Israel and the "Big Satan" - The United States of America. Stir this up in a cauldron (the world), bring to a boil (chaos), add a pinch of hate, and what do you get?

One definition of insanity is to continue an action expecting a different result. I tried over and over to contact my "leaders", representatives, etc... to no avail. I tried it with the first bail out. I have tried it on several occations, with the same result. So why would I continue in an effort I know is fruitless. The answer is I have given up. Eventually, they will come for me, because I think differently, and alone I will stand. Will I have the courage to fight, giving my life, fortune and sacred honor to the holy cause of freedom. Who knows?

Chump Change You Can Believe In....

I just read an article on the current "stimulus" bill. It reads as follows:
"...The $500-per-worker credit for lower- and middle-income taxpayers that Obama outlined during his presidential campaign was scaled back to $400 during bargaining by the Democratic-controlled Congress and White House. Couples would receive $800 instead of $1,000. Over two years, that move would pump about $25 billion less into the economy than had been previously planned.

Officials estimated it would mean about $13 a week more in people's paychecks when withholding tables are adjusted in late spring. Critics say that's unlikely to do much to boost consumption."

$13 per week? Oh Goodie, now mom can have that operation!!! These (insert your favorite series of profanities here) in Washington D.C. have just stole our individual liberty in the name of economic recovery, while ensuring economic disaster. Thank the Almighty above for these politicians for enslaving my children, grand children and great grand children to a crushing debt that will be paid in their lifetimes. That addition of $13 dollars a week equates to nothing more than 1 and a 1/2 dozen donuts (which I don't buy anyway).

really thrilled with the current times...

One of the nice things about having a blog that no one ever reads, is that no bitches and moans when you don’t write for a while. Having said that… It’s been one of the worst weeks for me in a long time.

First, we let go the final lowest totem on the pole at work. As I am an Architectural Designer, we had a Drafter, whom was very competent. I wouldn’t say he was a friend, but we had an amiable relationship, as supervisor vs. worker relationships go. As of this Monday past, I was going to be completely out of things to do. When I am out of things to do, a forced vacation is inline. This economy has hit my local area particularly hard. A good 50% of this county depended on its living on construction, either directly (contractor, Engineer, Architect, etc…) or indirectly (business supplying appliances, finishes, banks, food establishments next to construction sites, etc…). It’s been slowing here since about mid 2006. By Jan 2007, we laid off four workers. Today was one more, and we have one on the verge of losing his position, with no work for us to keep on staff, and I seem to be next on the chopping block. It’s been a nice ride… really.

Now that the abyss of unemployment is looming near, at least in my life, there a small ray of sunshine, that is still rather far from the silver lining of that cloud. My brothers are nearing their goal of starting a television series. If needs be, I might be involved, I sure hope I am involved.

Now, (to change the subject) I found a picture of Obama that just pissed me off!!! I was reading Drudge, clicked on a link for an article I was interested in, (http://wcbstv.com/politics/executive.pay.limits.2.927082.html) and found a photo of Obama, with the Seal of the President of the United States behind him. Because of how out of focus this was, it was like the Masonic halo around the messiah found in paintings of the Jesus the Christ. I have stopped listening to the news, as I am reasonably sure that I am NEVER being told the 100% truth. In fact, I am sure that I never am told the truth, unless it’s an event eye witnessed by myself.

And finally google tracking… Is it really a good idea to give free access to stokers, child molesters, and kidnappers free reign to find anyone at any time simply by clicking? Having a sister that was once stocked, and the creep still has issues, the last thing she would want is some creep knowing exactly where she is, simply because she has a cell phone. For the time being, a simple solution is get a prepaid cell phone, call forward from your current phone, to that prepaid cell phone, leaving the original phone anywhere else. By that’s only because I watch Burn Notice.

Random

Random thoughts.

I recently read a note on a friend from high school's Facebook that had a list of 25 things about herself. All had a minor explanation with it. As for me, I am sure that my minor accomplishments of this life do not amount to much out side my immediate circle of influence. I am not influential beyond that of my immediate family. That is I influence my wife, (for good and more often bad) I influence my children, and their friends with whom I come in contact. The second ring out would be the family I grew up in. This is rather limited, and quite often I feel the outsider that one must tolerate me, rather than accept me. In case and point, my youngest brother and his spouse for some reason beyond my reasoning continues to belittle those whom they find less than desirable, and even plots to cause rifts between spouses. They fling insults and dirty looks at everyone else. It's to the point where I will not participate with them, ever. Most people don't like doing things with the family, I loath it. (at least with those two.)

The next tier out side the center ring would be work. I have some influence with my boss and supervisor. This influence is somewhat limited, as I have no authority to make sweeping decisions beyond that of my particular division. I am not bothered by this fact. I simply recognize my limited scope of influence. The next ring out, is simply out of my realm of any kind of influence. I mean I have written letters to my two senators, (yes I know whom they are) and my one representative. I have called their offices, all to no avail. I am simply one person, whom has been totally cut off from any resource to our benevolent government. I feel our government has betrayed the American people.

For the conservative, there has been no leader elected in Washington DC since Newt Gingrich. but that's a rant for another day.

Next random thought...
For the last 12-15 months, I have felt a looming cloud. It's been creeping near for sometime, and the storm is about to break out. This storm feel like a storm I have never seen in my lifetime. It is a dark and brooding could, with threatening waves of weather that pierces to the very soul. It grows like a cancer, dark, silent and unexpectedly. This penetrates to parts of me, leaving little happiness, life, ambition and determination. I have struggled to peruse my dream, at least my current dream. It's not a small dream, but an ambitious one, that calls for great effort. It would require faith such I have never exercised before, and a total commitment of will to accomplish that which I desire. Most of the time, I am oft more than tired, exhausted, without the will to continue. I now drag myself to work, when once I relished every moment I was there. What's perhaps is worse, is even though I noticed this change, I am not sure I care. I simply shrug it off with a mental "eh". The cold that has been more biting and bitter than in recent memory, drains me of hope. It sucks the very life from me, and condemns my soul. A bleak and cold world awaits me outside my door.

With this grand assessment of my self indulgence into a pitting state, I asses the world, and think of my children. Thanks to the greed of those in power, pursuing more power, my children, grand children and great grand children are enslaved to a debt that may never be paid. Their freedoms are being stripped in the name of the greater good. Their opportunity for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is being stolen from those currently in power. Add to that the current world situation: A war in Israel, a new "Cold War" between Europe and Russia over oil, Al Quaida - whom wishes nothing more than the total destruction of the west and all to practice their version of Islam, political fighting over Global warming, when all data shows a global cooling since 1997, and now possibly the worst economic time since the birth of America, as the seeds sown by F.D.R. and cultivated and weeded by Carter, Bush 41, Clinton and Bush 43 are now being reaped for the benefit of those in Washington D.C. If there were a perfect cliche I would use it here. However, as tired as I constantly feel, there is not one that I can think of. I take this grand assessment, and realize that I am totally powerless to do ANYTHING about it. I am not accustomed to doing nothing. It's very frustrating to do nothing even with the knowledge that I can not do anything about any of it. I have my circle of influence, and it seems more than likely that one more ring will be out of my circle of influence (employment). It's not a pretty thought, but it's been been with me for some time, and continues to grow stronger with each passing minute. I am not at the end of my rope, but I think it's getting close.

The real question is what do I do? The easiest thing, is do what everyone expects me to do. Go with the flow, be normal. I have never been accused of being normal, ever. It's just not me. I don't have the resources to pursue my dream, and I don't have the power to greatly change my circumstance. So what's a guy to do? When you think of something, you will be sure to let me know, won't you?

Merry Christmas - Ho Ho Ho?

Some will look upon this late fall, as a cold and prolonged early winter. Others will reflect upon the “Holiday Season” or as I prefer it, the “Christmas Season” as a time of cheer, love and joy. This particular season, I have found it hard to be bitter, yet harder still to be filled with the love and joy that the season promotes. It has been a particularly early cold and it has been prolonged. The pale yellow sun fails to warm the face of this corner of the earth. This is not necessarily a peculiar event, it just happens in my general location sometime in late January and early February.

While I have not really enjoyed this Christmas season as I have in years past, all hope, love, joy and cheer is not lost. What’s more, I just learned of the passing of my grandmother. This is no particular surprise, and in her case, it probably a blessing. My grandfather, her husband, had passed just before Thanksgiving, 2007.

Before I go further, I should explain the tradition of Thanksgiving in my father’s family. Ever since I can remember, Thanksgiving has been a gathering of all my cousins, uncles, aunts, and grandparents starting the Wed. night before Thanksgiving. My dad has 6 brothers and one sister. Each of the brothers and sister has a minimum of 5 children. As of today, Most of the children have 3-5 children. When we gather for Thanksgiving, it’s anywhere between 90-120 people. On the Wed. before thanksgiving, in the last few years, it’s been my responsibility to start the fire in the pit for the meats which we cook underground. It starts about 12 and we make about 18” of coals to fully cook 5-7 20 lbs. turkeys, and 25 lbs. of roast beef. We place the meats in the pit at 7:00 p.m. and retrieve them 1:00 pm the next day. On Thanksgiving, the feast includes turkey, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy (I make the gravy) yams, salad, Dixie salad, rolls, green bean casserole, parsnips, and cranberry relish. It’s finished with a variety of pies, cakes, sweets.

The celebration does not stop with the feast. We hold a family home evening on Thanksgiving night. We have a load of games at park, use the leftovers for lunch, and return for dinner, and family entertainment. The next morning, families disperse to their homes.

Right before the Thanksgiving of 2007, my grandfather died. For me, it was not a time of lament, nor great sadness, for he was ready for the next phase of life. His years on this good Earth was spent working hard, and having challenges from external sources refine his character. He was a man that provided the needs of his family. He was an inventor, father, husband and had his posterity before him at least once a year at Thanksgiving. He relished those moments, for he knew his life was full rich – rich beyond description. He was not rich in terms of money, but his wealth was from the fulfillment of his family.
About an hour ago, I learned that his wife my grandmother died. It’s Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Two days before Christmas, my grandmother died. As was with my grandfather, I am not upset. She, like he, worked all her life. While her task was greater than any in the commercial or governmental field combined. She has stayed at home to raise 6 boys and 1 daughter. After they were raised, she then worked, keeping her husband from being idol. (I think that most wives are wired to do that) She was missing her husband, and with the various ailments that plagued her for the last 10 or so years, this is a blessing. She also was ready for the next stage of life.

While I don’t feel particularly distraught, or upset, I am sure that my dad is holding it together, right until the funeral. (just as he had with his father dying.) So for my dad, Thanksgiving will be a time for remembrance of his father’s passing, and Christmas will be the reminder of his mother’s passing.

Fortunately, thanks to the knowledge of what is after this life, and how it’s possible, despair is not commonly associated with death. We believe that all will live again. That is everyone that is born on Earth shall be resurrected in their time. For those that find the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, accept his teachings and become counted with his followers, life will be with the Father and the Son in a glory beyond all description. Thus, hope, faith and belief are all steps to this knowledge.

The only thing that really reoccurs to me, over and over, is that there are fewer days ahead than behind. And for the short term, the days ahead are dark, and dreary.
